Effects of Oxygen-Enhanced Combustion Methods on Combustion Characteristics of Non-Premixed Swirling Flames

The objective of the present study was to experimentally investigate and compare characteristics three oxygen-enhanced combustion (OEC) methods; premix enrichment (PE), air-oxy/fuel (AO), additionally also oxygen lancing (OL) method. overall concentration varied from 21% 38%. Combustion tests were carried out using gas burner with thermal input 750 kW fired by natural gas. OEC methods, such as nitrogen oxides carbon monoxide in flue gas, in-flame temperatures distribution horizontal symmetry plane chamber, heat flux chamber wall, temperature, stability flame investigated. NOx emissions increased more than 40 times 20 for PE AO OL methods below 150 mg/Nm3 at all concentrations showed significantly better results. For radiative transfer increasing concentration. available 20% higher 38% O2 O2. temperature decreased concentration, which affected a decrease N2 oxidizer simultaneous increase radiant flux.
